Founder Chuck Goodenough has
spent much of his life in the great outdoors. All those unforgettable
family vacations at fishing camps in Maine and Eastern Canada
as a child instilled a life-long love of nature, road-tripping
and adventure. From Christmas tree harvest and re-forestation
jobs in Oregon, to years working at and exploring the Grand Canyon
to taking work at an exclusive fishing lodge in Alaska and then
adventuring even further north & west to eventually chef
for geophysical crews out on the ice of the Beaufort sea.
"Outdoor wear and gear
is a natural part of my life", he explains. "I enjoy
just *packing* for a trip. Camping, kayaking, hiking, canoeing,
rafting, 4-wheeling or even just a road trip with the fam, I
have always enjoyed and made it a part of my life to get out
& into nature."
Having spent the last 20 years
as a photographer
in Los Angeles specializing in apparel and accessories, the garment
industry has been second nature to him. Rocky Trail is simply
the latest expression of that.
"I work with clothes.
I'm just so close to the clothes all the time that I knew I wanted
to do something more with apparel. Rocky Trail is just a natural."
Chuck is also Vice-President
of a newly formed Non-Profit Corporation called "Friends
of Last Chance Canyon" who's goal it is to help preserve
the cultural and mining history of Bickel Camp, Burro Schmidt's Tunnel and other historical sites within the El Paso Mountains
of California's South Western Mojave Desert.
Chuck is a single Dad with
2 kids living in Los Angeles where mountains, deserts and the
sea are all within reach.
